Hello and welcome to another edition of Reel Cuts. This week we are honing in on old faves and introducing them to you for a true golden oldie admiration.

Wuthering Heights. Book by Emily Brontë and performed by Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon. Brontë well-known for writing strong independent female characters really gave us something with Cathy. And Heathcliffe? Well who can fail to see the attraction of these characters? Forbidden love and class relations are the main focus of  the Brontë’s work and a  common theme in many of the sisters work.

In this performance I cannot tear myself away from Olivier who plays Heathcliffe a man possessed with revenge whenever he is wronged. And lets face it, he is wronged a lot.

From the first moment we meet him he is looked down upon.  He is hated by Cathy’s brother, But Cathy herself loves him until a Mr Edgar…
